Stallholders Information

Thank you for your interest in taking space at the 2017 Chiswick House Gardens Dog Show. Last year’s event was extremely successful, with more than 5000 visitors and well over 700 dogs participating in the various classes. Details of our embarrassingly large celebrity line-up will be revealed over the next few months, and we have lots of new activities and events to keep everyone entertained.

The organising committee is committed to running a professional well-supported show, and we look forward to saying hello to new as well as returning faces. On that note, we are extremely pleased to be able to announce that our main sponsors have again pledged their support for this year’s show – Chiswick estate agency John D Wood & Co. being our headline sponsor, with Dogtown also continuing their support with the Programme and ring sponsorship. We are also pleased to welcome support from Fullers Brewery for a second year. More sponsors will be announced as the year progresses.

Stallholding at Chiswick House Gardens Dog Show

We have been pleased to welcome over 40 stallholders to the show over the last few years. These have been a mix of charities and commercial stallholders. Commercial stalls will be charged £150 (no VAT).

Charity pitches will continue to be offered free of charge, with a returnable deposit system (£40). This system will be continued with deposits being returned at the show itself. For any cancellations received after August 11th 2016 we regret that it will be necessary to retain the deposit

The event plan will largely remain unchanged for the 2017 show. The stall pitches are set out in a square around the cricket wicket with the show rings around the edge of the pitch in the outfield. 

The show is supported by a PA system and we attempt to mention all stallholders throughout the day to encourage visitors. 

  • Advertising in the show programme – a whole page for £80, half page for £45.
  • Offering a prize for a class
  • Sponsoring a class at a cost of £95
  • Helping us with the judging

We will continue to keep you up to date with news regarding the show by regular bulletins nearer the date, and we will also make jpegs of the official show poster available for you from mid-summer. We also are on twitter @ChiswickDogShow as well as our Facebook.

Set-Up Period

The stallholders area will be located around the ‘wicket area’ on the cricket pitch. Stall pitches will be allocated and a plan will be issued two weeks before the show, but if you are a returning stallholder we will try to ensure that your pitch is in the same area unless otherwise requested. The grounds will be open to admit vehicles from 7.30 a.m. and we will operate a staggered arrival timetable to avoid congestion. We will let you know your arrival slot a couple of weeks before the show.

The show will open at 11.00 am and we ask that all stallholders are set-up and all vehicles removed by 10.30 am at the absolute latest. You will not need an access pass.

We regret that we are not able to provide tables, chairs or cover such as pergolas, and all stallholders are asked to provide their own facilities. If you are a new stallholder, you should also be aware that there is no electrical supply.


Toilets for public use are located to the side of the cricket pavilion. 

Hot water for refilling flasks can be obtained from the pavilion kitchen before the show starts.

A BBQ is operational at the show, as well as a wide range of other food vendors. We plan to be selling refreshments during the set-up period. 

As this is a temporary showground, we ask that all stallholders take responsibility for disposing of their own refuse, although there are recycling facilities for cardboard, plastics and glass on site.

Show End

The show will finish around 4.15 pm. At that time vehicles will be allowed back onto the pitch area for breakdown. Under no circumstances must any stallholder leave the show before the official close. Vehicles travelling through the showground when it is full of visitors present a serious safety risk. Any stallholders doing so will be stopped and banned from future shows.

What We Need From You

For 2017 we are introducing a revised booking process. We hope that in the long run it will make life easier for all of us!

  • Step 1 - Email me to let me know you are interested. 
  • Step 2 - I will send you a web-link for an online form to complete. The form captures all of your details. This includes a 25-word description of what your business / charity does to be entered in the show programme & website, used in press releases and utilised to provide visitors with information via the PA on the day. The form also provides an opportunity for you to order an advertisement (1/2 or full page), offer a prize, etc. If you order an advert or offer a prize we will contact you separately shortly afterwards.
  • Step 3 - Our Treasurer will issue an invoice.
  • Step 4 - You pay & we confirm the booking. Simple!
  • Step 5 - For new stallholders, we will need a jpeg of your company/brand logo by 11th August 2017 for incorporation in the show programme. You can send this to 

The deadline for bookings is 11th August 2017. Any bookings received after this date may miss being in the official show programme and will miss out on other opportunities.

You are advised to book early to avoid disappointment as we do operate a policy of not duplicating stallholders in certain categories. 

If inconceivably you do not wish to participate this year it would be helpful if you could let us know.

Please note that owing to the volume of businesses showing at the event, and the number of classes being run that we are now not able to accept prize donations on the day of the show itself. If you are interested in donating a prize we will contact you separately.  

Finally, please note that unfortunately no promotional ‘giveaways’ can be offered on the day by stallholders without the prior consent of the Dog Show Committee.

From Central London –

Head out of town on the Cromwell Road to the Hogarth Roundabout (landmark Fuller Smith & Turner brewery). Ignore signs for Chiswick House car park, but take 11 o’clock exit towards A316. Take first turning on your right with boundary wall of Chiswick House Gardens to your right. Take right into Staveley Road. Halfway down road (opposite a modern development) are the gates to the cricket pitch. Look out for the tall banners.

From South Circular & South London –

Take south circular to Barnes and follow Mortlake road past Brewery. At lights T junction take right hand lane and go over Chiswick Bridge. At second set of lights after bridge take left by Chiswick Community School along Staveley Road.  At end of road go across dog-leg (also Staveley Road) and look for gates opposite modern development.

From North Circular –

Go to Chiswick Roundabout and take 9 o’clock exit along Chiswick High Road. At lights by HSBC by Turnham Green turn right. Take left exit at mini roundabout. Take right hand turn by Town Hall into Sutton Court Road. Go across A4 at lights continuing along Sutton Court Road. Take second left into Staveley Road and after two roads on left. Entrance is opposite a modern development, on the left hand side.

A traffic marshal will be stationed at the gates to help you in to the grounds.
