All profits and proceeds from this event will go to Chiswick House & Gardens Trust to maintain and constantly improve this wonderful, historic oasis in West London.

Welcome to Chiswick House Dog Show!

Join us on Sunday 22nd September, from 11 am to 4.15 pm on the cricket pitch by the Staveley Road entrance, Chiswick House and Gardens (W4 3ES) for the “Biggest Dog Show in London”. Entry is free – and it’s always a day filled with fun and excitement.

Now in its 20th year, this event is organised by a group of local dog-loving volunteers who regularly walk in Chiswick House grounds, and the monies raised go towards dog-related matters, including the upkeep and maintenance of the many trees in the grounds so that people can walk their dogs safely.

Diverse competitions!

There’s a choice of 17 classes in which to enter your dog. These range from ‘Waggiest Tail’ and ‘Best Groomed’ through to the entertaining ‘My Dog’s Got Talent’. There is something for everyone’s “Best Friend”! To participate, go to the Registration link below, complete the £5 entry process, and choose a single class per time-slot for your dog. On show day, you’ll receive a numbered arm-band, to be prominently displayed by the handler, in each class you have chosen to enter

Some Highlights Include:

  • Best Rescue: Judged by the Dogs Trust experts, this class looks for the most-endearing rescue dogs (and their heart-rending stories).
  • Naughtiest Dog: Share the most mischievous moments your canine companion has come up with (and you have endured!).
  • My Dog’s Got Talent: Show the judges your dog’s very special skills – be it going round in circles, jumping through hoops or just balancing a biscuit on its nose – this competition is full of surprises!
  • Best Young Handler: For those aged eight to 14, show the judges how you and your dog can walk, talk and run well together.
  • Best in Show: The high-spot of the day, where the winners of each of the 17 classes compete against each other for the prestigious titles of ‘Best in Show’ and ‘Reserve Best in Show’.

Competitors and their owners should arrive in plenty of time for their class ‘time-slot’ (allow at least 20 minutes). Those who have registered on-line should bring their confirmation email to the Registration Desk. There will be a limited number of places in each class, on a first-come-first-served basis, for those who haven’t been able to register on-line. Please bring treats and poo bags. A timetable of all the classes is available at the entrance to each ring, and a ‘show guide’ (with timetable) is available from the Information Desk.

ALL DOGS SHOULD BE KEPT ON LEADS THROUGHOUT THE DAY

Doggy Dash

Enter your dog in a competition to see who is fastest in their group (small, medium or large). Which dog can reach the end of the ‘dash’ in the fastest time (without stopping, sniffing, peeing or pooing!). This all-day attraction is manned by volunteers from the Harefield Branch of the Dogs Trust, who donate the prizes. Proceeds from the Doggy Dash are shared between our two charities.

DogBola

Each year, our generous stall-holders donate prizes, as do class sponsors and many of our local West London businesses, pubs and restaurants, and these all go into our exciting ‘DogBola’. Join the fun (and anticipation!) for a chance to win one of the fantastic prizes.

Volunteer opportunities

We owe the success of the Dog Show to over 170 dedicated volunteers. If you’d like to contribute a few hours of your time on the day. Your support is invaluable!
